Thoughts about the Girls gone Wild Series

As a woman, my views on the “Girls Gone Wild” series, may surprise you. We’ve all done things that we regret when we drink, but the truth is,inevitably it is our responsibility to know our limits, and our boundaries. Do I feel that Joe Francis exploits these young women? Let’s just say, he’s definitely an opportunist. The women clearly participate of their own free will, he just happens to be there in their not so “finest hour”. I believe that these young girls don’t really consider the consequences until the video ends up in their little brothers hands, then all of a sudden, they were taken advantage of, or they “don’t remember”. There were times in my youth I did some things that I was not proud of, but unfortunately, I did remember, …it was just easier and some how less embarrassing, if I lied to myself. These young girls are selling their souls for nine dollars and ninety nine cents, perhaps they wouldn’t be as upset if they were getting a percentage of his profits, then at least then it might be worth it, but as it stands all they get is their fifteen minutes of fame, and no fortune. Joe Francis, is just a horny guy, who decided to bring a video camera on spring break, and a light bulb went off. If these girls are so apt to expose themselves for free, then why not make millions, after all isn’t that the American way? Joe Francis may not be the pillar of the community, but I do feel that these girls have to accept responsibility for their actions, as embarrassing as they might be. Girls gone wild is exactly what it is, girls going wild, he has them sign a waiver, if that doesn’t sober them up, then I don’t know what will. Our youth are on a very dangerous path, they are living a shallow existence,….their priorities are all out of whack, but we can’t blame Joe Francis for that. It’s the old cliche’, “it starts in the home”…perhaps if we spent more time addressing the issues, instead of pointing fingers, we would all be better off.
