Hope allows us to dream and to realize the impossible. It has the effect of transforming and providing the catalyst needed for total reinvention. It gives folks something to look forward to when everything seems impossible: that is the power of hope.
God tells us to hope. He gives permission to anticipate, to plan and to dream in Psalm 31:24, “Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.”
And Roman 8:24-25 provides “For we are saved by hope; but hope that is seen is not hope; for what a man sees why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.”
Hope allows one to look forward, to look beyond the immediate and to a force beyond themselves. Hope is a state of sustained optimism. If one aligns his or her thinking with positive optimism, there is no limit to what they can do or what they can become.
There are folks who possess extraordinary fortitude who fight against ravaging diseases even those diagnosed terminal. They overcome the odds with few, if any, side effects all because they never gave up hoping, anticipating, and believing.
Positive thoughts are essential to producing positive results. Negative thoughts and negative emotions lower the immune system, while positive thoughts and positive emotions boost it. Therefore, it is safe to say, positive thinking and hoping go hand in hand with being conquerors and with creating positive transformations or outcomes.
Hope is not about denying the existence of adversity; it is about cultivating hope as a lifestyle. The reason many do get the results they desire is because they think of hope as an “emergency fix” and when it does not work for them, they continue on with their old negative and defeated way of thinking.
Hope is like a reservoir that has been filled with positivism, belief, and anticipation over the years so that when trouble comes, there is a place to go for strength to endure while the battle is being raged and eventually won. In order to prevail over life’s issues and to experience the ultimate power of hope, one must always have this storage filled and refilled.
Remember, hope is a lifestyle of envisioning, anticipating, planning and receiving what you wish for in life. Why not reach for the moon. If you do it right and never waiver in your convictions, you might actually end up among the stars.
