Jehovah Witness

What is the truth about Jehovah’s  Witnesses?  I’m going to tell you what I know about Jehovah”s Witnesses. People all over the world condemn Jehovah’s Witnesses. Why?  Most people think they are a cult and others don’t believe in what they teach.

Jesus said this in John 15:18-20, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you. Bear, in mind the word I said to you, A slave is not greater then his master. If they persecuted me, they will persecuted you also, if they have observed my word, they will observe yours also.”

What do you think Jesus was talking about? Think about who out of all the religions of the world get persecuted and hated? The only ones that come to my mind are Jehovah’s Witnesses.

With not being part of this world, we are not to take part in wars. Yes, there were Theocratic wars before Jesus came to earth but after he came to earth, he changed all that. He told his true followers not to pick up a sword or learn of war anymore. We are not to take part in politics either, because Jesus said that his kingdom is no part of this world but it is God’s heavenly kingdom ruled in heaven.

Our beliefs come form the Bible, we worship Jehovah as the only true God and speak about him and his loving purpose. We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and is not part of some Trinity. We believe in God’s kingdom, that it is the only hope for mankind, we believe that only 144,000 thousand (found in Revelation chapter seven verse 4) spirit anointed Christians will share with Christ in his heavenly kingdom.  We also believe that God will fulfill his purpose for the earth. Webelieve that the dead are conscious of nothing (found in Ecc. chapter 9 verse 5).  We believe that we are living in the last days and that we are separate from the world, just like Jesus said we would be. We also apply Bible counsel in our lives.

They go preaching house to house for a reason. Jesus foretold for our day this work: “This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations and then the end will come.” He also instructed his followers: “Go….and make disciple of people of all the nations.” – Matt. 24:14, 28:19.

Out of all the religions I only found one that does that, and it is the Jehovah’s Witnesses. I did not grow up with Jehovah’s Witnesses at all. My parents didn’t even go to a church. When I was fifteen, I was out at a Baptist Church playing basketball by myself, and the Pastor’s wife came out and invited me to come. Which I did for a while but it didn’t feel right to me. Then I got married at seventeen, my husband’s friend invited us to her church and we went for a while there and it didn’t feel right to me either. My aunt is one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, that’s how I came to find about them.  One of Jehovah’s Witnesses used to come to my mom’s house all the time. I took the time to listen to her. Now, I’m doing the Bible study with her and going to the meetings. I love it and it makes a lot of sense to me.

They don’t celebrate the holidays. Which makes sense if you really think about it. When Jesus was born, the shepherds were out in the fields. They wouldn’t have been out at night in winter because in that country winter monthsare rainy and cold. Plus, Mary and Joesph would have traveled that far if it been cold, when she was pregnant. So, if you really think about it, Jesus wasn’t really born in December. Plus, what would Jesus birth have to do with Christmas trees, Santa, and things like that? They only thing in the Bible that mentions is that we are supposed to remember is the Memorial of Jesus’ death.

Of all the leaders of the world, none can change the world to a better place and they never will. But, when the war of Armageddon starts, it will bring peace. For all the wickedness will be destroyed on the day of Jehovah.

Back in Noah’s day, he preached about the coming of the flood and all didn’t believe him and they all were destroyed. Today is the same, Jehovah’s Witnesses are telling all about God’s coming to end all the wickedness (Psalms 37:10,11) and most are not listening. No one knows for sure when it will happen but as the Bible tells us God cannot tell a lie. So, it will happen.

For Danial 2:44 tells us: “The God in heaven will set up a kingdom……It will crush and put a end to all these kingdoms (or governments) and it itself will stand to times indefinite.”

So, they are not some cult, as most believe. And for the ones that don’t know what a cult is, a cult is when you follow a person. Jehovah’s Witnesses do not follow a person. They follow Jesus and his father. We also believe in God’s purpose for mankind and a peaceable future for all that listen and apply what the Bible tells us. Would you like to live in a world that doesn’t have sickness, war, crime, violence and hunger? A place that your children can go outside and play with wild animals? In the new system of things animals will also be at peace with one another and with humans.

If you would like to learn what the Bible really teaches, Jehovah’s Witnesses would give you a free Bible study and you can also check out their web site at www.watchtower.org for more information.
