How to Heal through the Imagination

Self healing is a process. It does not happen overnight.  All healing does not work the same for everyone. It is important to practice any technique long enough to produce results. Healing of any kind requires time and energy. One f the most fun and easy tools to use with self healing is imagination. It takes visualization a step or two ahead. Imagination can use all five senses and have a bigger impact on self healing.

All of our actions and feelings begin with our thoughts. Our thoughts can direct our senses and imagination to create any situation in our mind. It is that power that allows our imagination to heal.

~ Imagine toxins leaving the body
There are many ways to imagine toxins leaving the body.  Imagine clear and detailed scenes.

Imagine a walk in a light cool rain. Feel the toxins rise to the skin and wash away from the body down to the ground. Smell the fresh fragrance of the rain. Hear the natural and calming sounds as if walking through a lightly wooded forest. Catch a raindrop on the tongue and taste the fresh water. Let the emotions celebrate as the toxins leave the body.

Imagine getting a very relaxing and wonderful massage. Feel the hands removing the tension and the toxins from the body. With every stroke, toxins are simply wiped away. Smell a fresh citrus scent. Hear the soft tones of healing. Taste the fresh citrus taste of nutrients moving the toxins out of the body.

Imagine with every sip of liquid toxins are being  washed from the body. Taste how good the water or beverage is.  Enjoy the feeling of swallowing and have it quench your thirst.  Smell the favorite fragrances as you feel the water removing the beverages from the body.

~ Paint the picture in the mind (or on the canvas)
Many times self healing is about emotional healing. We can learn from the pictures that children draw. The pictures are very reflective of their true emotions.  We want to paint the pictures of the negative emotions and situations leaving and the way our new day will be.

Imagine your negative emotions like dark rain clouds. Paint the picture of the dark rain could surrounding you. Safely watch the rain and hear the angry thunder. Feel the relief as the strong wind comes and chases the storm away. Enjoy the smell of the clean newly washed earth. Enjoy the healing sunshine.

In the book The Secret there is a powerful quote that reminds one of their own personal strengths. It seems fitting to end with the wise words of  Dr. John Demartini.

“We’ve known in the healing arts of a placebo effect. A placebo is something that that supposedly has no impact and no effect on the body, like a sugar pill.

You tell the patient that this is just as effective, and what happens is the placebo sometimes has the same effect, if not a greater effect, than the medication that is supposed to be designed for that effect. They have found that the human mind is the biggest factor in the healing arts, sometimes more so than medicine.”

Imagination is a great asset and tool.
