How to be Saved

God has made it really easy for us to be saved. Romans 10:9 tells us how. All we have to do is believe that God has raised Jesus Christ, his Son, from the dead, and make confess Jesus as Lord. That’s it. That is all you need to do.

The resurrection of Christ is perhaps the most important facet of Christian faith, and this is why. Jesus did not die because man decided to kill him, or by chance. He was the Son of God, and a man with that much power behind him could certainly have saved himself from death had he chosen to do so. But it was part of God’s plan for our salvation that Jesus had to die. In doing so he became the sacrifice for our sins, just like the lambs they sacrificed in the Old Testament. Only this time it was a man, and the atonement was permanent and for everyone. John ( 3:16) tells us that God loved us so much that he gave his son for us. He gave the most precious thig he had, so that we could be saved. Jesus himself went through agonising torture and death so that we could be saved.

The resurrection was God’s vctory over death. In it we see the hope of our own ressurection when Jesus returns.

To confess Jesus as Lord simply means to say it. To make him Lord in your life is simply to recognise him as the Son of God and therefore as pre-eminent.

If a man you knew, now was willing to die for you, you would think him a hero. Jesus Christ was the ultimate hero as he died for all of us,

To be saved we must have faith. it is not about knowing lots of scripture, or being the most pious person in the world It is not exclusive. If you believe in the resurrection, and Jesus is your Lord then you are saved. this is regardless of anything else you do. It doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to live a Christian life, as there is more to Christianity than being saved. But the fact is that to be saved this is all you need to do.

We are saved from death. That is why it took death as the price that was paid for this salvation. Since Adam and Eve took the fruit in the garden of Eden, man has always sinned. we always will, it is part of our nature. the bible tell us that death is he consequence or ‘wages’ of sin. God has saved us from the consequences of this sin through the sacrifice of his Son. It doesn’t mean we will not die. Everyone dies. it means that when Christ returns, we will rise up again, like he did.

To be saved is simple. The hard work was done for you, on a cross, 2000 years ago.
