Revelations 22. And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
The pure water of life refers to the purity of man; the river of life. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve types of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
All around this river (the river of man) are the twelve trees of life bearing fruits, to sustain life. Each month the leaves of these trees acted as ‘regulations’ to keep the nations acceptable to each other. And there shall be no more curses: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
All nations will recognise the one true God and shall serve him as children; obediently. And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
All men will recognise GOD as the head of all creation. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
In the spiritual there is no day or no night but the light which emanates from God himself lights the way for all eternity. And he said unto me, these sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show his servants the things which must shortly be done.
Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keeps the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
Blessed is he who remembers the Lord his God. And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
Here it tells how we do not bow down and worship any but the God of creation. And he said unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he that is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Let those who believe, believe, and those who do not, do not, because each as been given the choice to choose. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
To those who believe they shall inherit the kingdom of heaven, to those who do not believe, then they shall live without God. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
God proclaims that he is all there was and all that there shall ever be; the beginning and the end. Blessed are they that do his commandments that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
To those who believe and follow the commandments of God shall be given entrance into the kingdom of heaven. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loves and makes a lie.
All around us are temptations that seek to force us to stray from the path of righteousness. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
Here there now arises a controversy!
Bright and morning star?
In Isaiah 14:12 Lucifer is referred to in Hebrew as the morning star.
Why would Jesus refer to himself as the bright and morning star?
According to scholars Saint Jerome made a mistake in his translation, that he had mistranslated the Hebraic metaphor, “Day star, son of the Dawn,” as “Lucifer,” and over the centuries a metamorphosis took place.
Lucifer the morning star became a disobedient angel, cast out of heaven to rule eternally in hell.
But with this arises another controversy; was not Lucifer cast out of heaven to inhabit earth?
Is hell, therefore, Earth? And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that hears say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
In the Book of Genesis is a tree planted by God in midst of the Garden of Eden, whose fruit gives everlasting life, i.e. immortality. Together with the Tree of Life, God planted the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil (Genesis 2:9).
After eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, the biblical account states that Adam and Eve were exiled from the Garden of Eden to prevent them from eating from the Tree of Life:
And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” (Genesis 3:22)
Does this not indicate that man is denied eternal life?
Or do we disregard the word of God in favour of our own desire? For I testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
He who testifies these things says, “Surely I come quickly.” Amen.
The words of this book are not to be taken lightly, but they are to be studied and translated until you realise what is written there.
Yet in saying that, there can be a great confusion, for who are we that we can translate the meanings of words that were written over two thousand years ago, words that have been changed and rearranged since they were written?
Maybe it is better not to try, simply to remember. Remember the Lord your God.
Any religious work leaves us with awe and amazement and we follow our chosen path of religion, perhaps instead, we should follow God, accepting all as our equals; our brothers and our sisters.
The river of life continues, and will continue to flow across the earth for all eternity but only a few will inherit the kingdom, the kingdom of heaven.
